Description

This 58mm T2.0 full-frame prime is a modified Helios 44-2 lens, hand-rebuilt by Richard Gale (Dog Schidt Optiks) into a cine-style housing with a 'Blue' optical configuration for a specific flare and color character. Interchangeable rear optical modules and swappable aperture discs let the flare shape, contrast and color cast be adjusted on set rather than fixed at manufacture. It carries the distinctive vintage rendering associated with Soviet-era Helios glass, including swirly bokeh and pronounced flaring. Its full-frame coverage and manual, de-clicked controls suit handheld and cine-style operation with a follow focus gear. It suits music videos, fashion shoots and narrative work built around a strong, characterful vintage look.
