EyeDirect MKII
Description
This mirror-and-beamsplitter device lets an interview subject look directly into the camera lens while still seeing the interviewer's face, solving the common problem of interview eye lines looking off-camera. Using a passive beamsplitter and secondary mirror, it requires no power and works with cameras from DSLRs to full cinema bodies. An included tablet accessory converts it into a teleprompter when the mirror wing is removed, letting talent read lines while still appearing to look at the interviewer. Its adjustable 18-inch baseplate and tilt/lateral wing adjustment let it balance with different camera and lens combinations. It suits documentary, interview and narrative productions that want direct-to-lens eye contact without an unnatural or distant gaze.
